Project Showcase: Smooth Student Migration from Infusionsoft to Kajabi for This Nonprofit Course Creator
Jul 15, 2025
A behind-the-scenes look at moving students from Infusionsoft to Kajabi with clarity, care, and minimal overwhelm.
“Natashia has a real eye for detail and she moved the project along at a good pace.âĻI feel less stressed about the migration and very confident that it was done properly. She also made a few suggestions that I feel will have a very positive response from the participants of my training programs.”âĻ— Betty Ferreira, Founder of Goodcasting Academy
When Betty Reached Out
Betty Ferreira, founder of Goodcasting Academy, is no stranger to system-building. With over 30 years of experience training nonprofit leaders across Canada, she’s known for making complex financial topics feel approachable and engaging — all while empowering mission-driven organizations to lead with confidence.
So when it came time to streamline her tech stack, Betty had already made the leap to Kajabi — and had done a great job moving her course content over from Memberium. She’d even set up her own email automations for the learning portion of her programs — guiding students through the instructional content.
But there was one part that had her feeling stuck: “How do I move my existing students into Kajabi and keep them exactly where they are in their journey?”
That’s when she reached out — ready to take the final steps, but needing a trusted partner to get it done right.
The Project Breakdown: Migrate + Automate + Declutter
We began by setting up a 10-month email sequence for each of her Masterclass courses to begin after the two-month instructional portion ends, providing ongoing tools and support. We also created custom welcome emails for each course to provide a warm, clear entry point for new students, along with a renewal campaign for those reaching the end of their one-year access — guiding them to re-enroll in the Tribe Community with ease.
Next, I helped Betty compile and segment her contact lists so we could grant the right course access in Kajabi. Because students were all at different stages of their learning journey, we created multiple versions of the email sequences and offers. This enabled each group to continue their progress through the course seamlessly from where they had left off – now in Kajabi.
We also took time to audit and refine her tagging system. Kajabi has a 100-tag limit, unlike her previous setup in Infusionsoft, so we carefully reviewed which tags were essential and removed the ones that were outdated or redundant. The result? A much cleaner, more intentional backend.
Finally, we connected her custom domain — the www.goodcasting.academy — and professional email address to Kajabi, giving her platform a polished, branded presence. I also did a full review of her Kajabi setup to confirm everything was functioning as it should — from product access to automations — so Betty could move forward with clarity and confidence.
The Result: A Confident Close to a Complex Migration
Betty now has a streamlined system inside Kajabi that supports the full student journey — from onboarding to ongoing learning to renewal. Her students were moved to Kajabi with care, without having to start over. Her systems now reflect the current season of her business — focused, future-ready, and more aligned with her mission.
What Betty Had To Say
“I feel less stressed about the migration and very confident that it was done properly…”âĻ— Betty, Goodcasting Academy
This was more than a tech transition. It was a strategic reset — one that kept the heart of her teaching intact while making everything simpler behind the scenes.
